MAY 30, 2021– US Border Patrol  (USBP) agents assigned to the Laredo North Station encountered the tractor-trailer at the primary inspection lanes of the Interstate 35 #checkpoint. A #K9 team alerted to the conveyance and referred it to secondary for further inspection.
The driver was advised to go to the secondary inspection area but ignored the agent’s directions and fled the checkpoint. Agents quickly pursued the tractor-trailer, which came to a stop on the highway median before the driver absconded into the surrounding brush.
Agents opened the locked trailer and discovered over 100 undocumented individuals hidden inside. Agents arrested the driver shortly after. Eight undocumented minors were found among the group, seven of which were unaccompanied.
