According to the Adair Fire & Rescue – “The Adair Fire Department was paged to a semi fire at the Kum and Go around 2:45 this morning. The truck driver took out the diesel/gas pump, causing electrical wires to spark and ignite.

Kum and Go employees were able to act quickly and perform the emergency shutdown, which helped tremendously. Within a few minutes, we were on the scene and got a quick knockdown preventing the fire to reach any buildings.

Area departments assisted with water due to the water tower maintenance, we had low water pressure, so needed water hauled in. No injuries.

Thanks to the Anita Fire, Casey Fire, Greenfield Fire, Stuart Fire Departments, Adair County Ambulance, Adair County Sheriffs Department, Adair Police Department, and Richter and Son Towing.”
