A standoff between police and truck driver shuts down i-94 in Skokie IL

According to the article in the patch.com and Illinois State Police- “Both directions of Interstate 94 were shut down at Old Orchard Road for more than four hours Wednesday morning. State police shut down the Edens Expressway in both directions at Old Orchard Road Wednesday morning due to a standoff with someone in a semi-truck”.

“Northbound traffic is closed at Dempster Avenue. Southbound traffic was closed at Skokie Boulevard. Both entrance ramps at Old Orchard were shut down”. According to state police, and patch.com

According to abc7chicago.com “Negotiators used faith and friendliness to coax a 54-year-old female driver from Michigan from the cab of a semi-trailer that was stopped on the Edens outbound ramp to Old Orchard Road.
