“Regulators overseeing the trucking and agriculture industries will be looking to make it easier for haulers of agricultural commodities and livestock to comply with work rule regulations.”- According to the article in freightwaves.com and its author John Gallagher

“An advanced notice of proposed rulemaking to be issued shortly by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), in coordination with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), was prompted by confusion over what constitutes an “agricultural commodity” and what defines “livestock,” leading to inconsistent enforcement of exemptions from hours-of-service (HOS) requirements.” – Gallagher also wrote in his article.

The DOT will be accepting the feedback on those questions which you can read in full HERE, for 60 days, beginning when the notice is published. All comments can be posted HERE under Docket Number: FMCSA-2018-0348.
