Lawmakers warn of automation’s potential to replace drivers

Gallagher also wrote – “In a report published on June 3 explaining priorities set out in the initial draft of the transportation funding bill for fiscal year 2020, the House Appropriations Committee registered concern that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and its subsidiary agencies were not adequately preparing for challenges that could result from automation, particularly the potential for putting drivers out of work.”
