According to the post on Suez Canal Authority Facebook page –“The successful refloating of the Panamanian container ship Ever Given begins.

Lieutenant-General Osama Rabie, chairman of the Suez Canal Board, announced today that the Panamanian container ship Ever Given successfully sailed after the vessel responded to stress and towing maneuvers.
The vessel’s course was significantly modified by 80%, and the stern of the vessel moved offshore by 102 meters instead of 4 meters.

The maneuvers are to resume when the water level rises to its maximum height between 11:30 and 2 meters, allowing the vessel to completely change course halfway.

Lieutenant General Rabie sent out a message assuring the international maritime community to resume sailing the canal once the ship is fully out of the sea and have it waiting in the lakes region for a technical inspection.
The chairman of the authorities praised the heroic people of the Suez Canal Board who did this great work, appreciating their efforts in the past period and fulfilling their national duty in full, with full confidence to complete the work to 100%.”
