President Trump was interviewed by Fox News on May 8th, and responds to reporters’ questions regarding truckers being price gouged by saying, “they are price -gouged.”

Hundreds of truckers came to Washington DC last Friday, May 1st, to protest low freight transportation rates, brokers transparency, safety, and more.

As iTrucker iTrucker reported last Friday, President responded to protesting truckers last Sunday by tweeting, “I’m with the TRUCKERS all the way. Thanks for the meeting at the White House with my representatives from the Administration. It is all going to work out well! “and sending his representative to talk with truckers and giving them a bag of hats.

Today Trump speaks for the first time about the truckers waiting for a more detailed response from him by saying: “Looked like 1000 trucks. They were honking, honking,” speaking of the coordinated air-horn S.O.S. that truckers were doing nearly every hour. “I actually sent representatives out. It was very funny. They were honking all day, and they are great people and people who like me. They like Trump”.

Trump concluded his interview by saying that truckers are “great people, the great, great people, and they successful, they have these big beautiful trucks.” He also said: “they not asking for much; they wanna be treated fairly, so we handling the truckers, we are going to take care of them.”

Let’s see if this time, President Trump and his administration will keep his word and really will help suffering truckers and the whole trucking industry.

This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
